What are we trying to do

Our mission is to do everything we can in SE London to help the UK become as European as any other member state of the European Union. 

So what we think we're about - our outline strategy - is this:

1. Identifying the levers available to us and using them.  

2. Making contact with all the people in our area who share our aspirations.

3. Enlisting the skills and availability of people joining in our cause.

4. Establishing an organisation that is robust, sustainable and makes a difference. 

5. Helping to form a positive idea of Europe in the minds of our fellow citizens.

Broad Action Plan

Influence

What are the levers? Parliament took the decision to remove us from the EU, but public opinion as expressed in the referendum was the justification cited.  So to reverse Brexit we have to do anything in our power to influence the decision takers in Government and Parliament.  We have to do that in the knowledge that public opinion is the ultimate influence in both cases, so we have to do what is within our power to influence public opinion as well.

Freedoms 

There is a positive case to be made for freedom of movement for people and pets, the freedoms guaranteed by belonging to the European Council and the European Convention on Human Rights, the defence of our free societies from invasion from the East, and support for Ukraine. These issues are an important aspect of winning the public case for Europe.

Future

Positive thinking about our country is synonymous with being alert to a positive fully European future. We can best encourage it by taking opportunities to inform young people about Europe

Growth

Is not just a matter of GDP, but business is an important sector of the economy to have suffered from the Brexit mistake and we can aim for a better understanding among decision takers. Growth is also a heading covering the growth of our organisation through the best possible use of the people who volunteer to join us.

Outdoors

Is another way of saying the environment, but also all the things we can do there: push the EMUK environment campaign, yes, but also interact with people on the street.
